A Transportation Security Administration employee who pretended to uncover drugs in a passenger’s bag had played the prank more than just once.

Last January, the Philadelphia Inquirer broke the story of Rebecca Solomon, a 22-year-old University of Michigan student who was the victim of a practical joke she felt was inappropriate. Solomon said a TSA employee at the Philadelphia International Airport had pulled her aside for an interrogation over a baggie of powder he “found” in her carryon bag. Fearing she had fell victim in the plot of a terrorist drug dealer, Solomon fought back tears as she was questioned, until finally the TSA agent smiled and admitted he was just joking.

Shanghai–Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) announced that Sichuan Airlines and China Southern Airlines have awarded contracts to the company’s Aerospace Group, underscoring Eaton’s continuing growth in the Asia-Pacific region and its global leadership in aircraft component quality and reliability. The value of the contracts has not been disclosed.

Sichuan Airlines Co., Ltd. selected Eaton to supply engine-driven pumps and AC motorpumps for its new fleet of 32 Airbus 320 passenger jets. The company will also supply engine-driven pumps and AC motorpumps for China Southern Airlines’ new fleet of 20 Airbus 320 passenger jets.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – At first glance, it doesn’t look like there is much going on at the former department store at Ninth Street and Broadway. The seven-story building has only been open a little more than a month, and the management concedes that some final touches are still being applied.

The pool is not installed yet, and neither is the dog park. The hotel-like services, a stylish lobby and community rooms also have not been completed.

You’re not alone if you’re excited about the new crop of Brazilian churrascaria restaurants coming to cruise ships.

Royal Caribbean CEO Adam Goldstein writes on his blog this week that pre-bookings for the churrascaria eatery planned for the line’s soon-to-debut, 5,400-passenger Allure of the Seas have taken off since it was announced in late August.

Unveiled at a media preview of Allure at the STX Europe yard in Finland, the meat-focused eatery — dubbed Samba Grill — has quickly become the third most popular venue on the vessel for pre-bookings, Goldstein says.

The Delamar Hotel, located on 275 Old Post Road in Southport, has recently celebrated its anxiously awaited opening.  The Delamar Southport joins The Delamar on Greenwich Harbor, as one of an exclusive portfolio of luxury boutique hotels owned and operated by the Greenwich Hospitality Group. The property was built in 2001 as a condo hotel, when it fell upon hard times and went into bankruptcy, foreclosure and three to four year abandonment.

Greenwich Hospitality had an opportunity to bid on the property last year and was successful. After about a year of reconstruction, the group has completed its venture, promising the ultimate in boutique hotel hospitality.

SINGAPORE – Preliminary findings on Universal Studios Singapore’s Battlestar Galactica (BSG) ride were presented to the Public Entertainments Licensing Unit (PELU) today, detailing investigative testing progress so far, as well as potential solutions to correct defects that were found on the ride during its daily safety-check run cycles on 25 March 2010.
On 18 March 2010, Universal Studios Singapore opened in a standard industry ‘soft-open status’, which means that the rides, shows and other operational aspects of the park are subject to being modified and improved as needed, in order to accommodate actual guest operating conditions and improve the overall experience of the park’s visitors.
