PERSONAL:

With almost four months of staying here in Singapore, I still find myself amused most of the times with the efficiency of their transport system. The ez-link card is very helpful and I recommend it to the tourists who are coming here for a visit. Imagine, you could transfer between buses and trains and you will be charged based on the distance, and not the number of times you alighted the vehicle. It’s also amazing how technical problems are fixed right away. When a bus or train breaks down, a breakdown service comes right away so the passengers won’t have the inconvenience of waiting.

I heard there’s an ongoing theatrical show featuring dinosaurs over at Adelaide, Australia. Dubbed “Walking with Dinosaurs”, the $20million production showcases 20 life-sized dinosaurs. Each large dinosaur weighs 1.6 tonnes and contains metres of hydraulic hose, fabric and foam, 200 litres of paint, seven kilowatts of power, a kilometre of cabling and six hydraulic motors. They run on rollerblade wheels with a driver and two puppeteers operating the head, tail, mouth and eyes.

I think this is a must-see entertainment venue for families!

PERSONAL:
As most of you know, I really dream of reaching Amsterdam before I turn 30. I hope that this dream would finally come true
within the year or early next year when my schengen visa is finally approved.  My bestfriend and I already discussed this and we’re already drafting our Europe route! I could now imagine myself carrying around a huge travellers backpack, a kelty salida 2 tent, and a dslr camera around my neck!

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – At first glance, it doesn’t look like there is much going on at the former department store at Ninth Street and Broadway. The seven-story building has only been open a little more than a month, and the management concedes that some final touches are still being applied.

The pool is not installed yet, and neither is the dog park. The hotel-like services, a stylish lobby and community rooms also have not been completed.

You’re not alone if you’re excited about the new crop of Brazilian churrascaria restaurants coming to cruise ships.

Royal Caribbean CEO Adam Goldstein writes on his blog this week that pre-bookings for the churrascaria eatery planned for the line’s soon-to-debut, 5,400-passenger Allure of the Seas have taken off since it was announced in late August.

Unveiled at a media preview of Allure at the STX Europe yard in Finland, the meat-focused eatery — dubbed Samba Grill — has quickly become the third most popular venue on the vessel for pre-bookings, Goldstein says.

The Delamar Hotel, located on 275 Old Post Road in Southport, has recently celebrated its anxiously awaited opening.  The Delamar Southport joins The Delamar on Greenwich Harbor, as one of an exclusive portfolio of luxury boutique hotels owned and operated by the Greenwich Hospitality Group. A new mall situated in the south of the metro, is becoming the new favorite of recessionistas.

A strategic spot for commuters and motorists, the Baclaran Terminal Plaza Inc. 1 (BTPI-1), which is next to the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Terminal, now offers a wide variety of goods—from clothing, high-quality bags to electronics—with prices slashed to almost 50% off, compared with the prices in the city’s more common malls.

And all of these are of good quality, affirmed Carla Nocom and Eric Ke, general managers of the Terminal Plaza. “We offer cheap but good finds here, since most of them are imported from different countries in Asia. Thus we guarantee shoppers of premium products,” said Ke.

Fully airconditioned with modern security system and convenient parking spaces, BTPI truly gratifies the hankerings of Filipino bargain hunters for bottomless shopping.
