Today’s house-meal was Crispy Pork Binagoongan (crispy pork with shrimp paste) and sauteed bean sprouts. Yum! Both dishes are fairly easy to cook when you have the complete ingredients. Ivan fried the meat with ground pork fat…I was surprised how the solid pork fat liquefied and turned into cooking oil after about an hour of cooking. Our lunch turned out great and I ate a cup of rice :( Searching for hydroxycut reviews now to aid my diet, hahahaha!!!

So last night, my housemate handed me a bunch of letters–banks, banks, banks, and Ikea. I was a bit surprised when I saw the Ikea catalogue because I remember choosing electronic catalogues during my Ikea Friends membership registration. I just feel like it’s a huge waste of resources to mail out papers to customers. Anyway, since the catalogue is already in my hands, I decided to browse through it. As always, it’s very comforting to see Ikea’s lineup of beds, tables, television stands, kitchen set-up, etc. I imagined again my dream house filled with Ikea stuff. I hope it would come true in the near future! :)
My boyfriend is a huge fan of The Office and he told me that Will Ferell would be joining the cast soon. Not really sure about that because I just googled now and I saw articles about it not being true. But I think Will Ferrell would be a good addition to the show. God know what office supplies joke he could come up with! I’m sure the series would be more interesting with him on board. Let’s wait!!!

I don’t understand this weather. The past couple of days, it was scorching hot. Like, I’ll just go outside for a few minutes and then I’ll get a massive headache afterwards. But last night, it started to rain. And it rained quite hard. Funny how some people would just sleep for hours in this kind of weather. As for me, I’m still figuring out how to get rid of dark circles due to lack of sleep. Hrrr.

I’m counting the days until my next visit to Manila. It is still weeks away and I can’t wait to be home again. Good thing there’s a national holiday on Tuesday so it would just be a 4-day work week. Meanwhile, the annoying pimple atop my nose is still there. Quietly sitting like a royalty. I had to google pimple cure and I was lead to this accutane review site. Must. Remove. Pimple!

I’ve been in the corporate world for four years already. I could say that 5-day 8-hour jobs while confined in your work cubicle could make someone crazy. Of course, I still do my best in comes to work. However, when there’s too much things needed to be done, I tend to get….messy.
Yep, the photo above is my work station. I desperately need a training in document management, don’t I? ^___^

I could still remember how several years ago, people in the Philippines got into the caregiver craze due to the big demand of caregivers in other parts of the world. Suddenly, doctors, registered nurses, teachers, old people, and housewives enrolled in various medical assistant school with hopes of securing a better-paying job abroad. Thinking about it, I feel kind of sad that Filipinos need to work abroad to earn more money…it’s what I’m doing right now. :(

With almost four months of staying here in Singapore, I still find myself amused most of the times with the efficiency of their transport system. The ez-link card is very helpful and I recommend it to the tourists who are coming here for a visit. Imagine, you could transfer between buses and trains and you will be charged based on the distance, and not the number of times you alighted the vehicle. It’s also amazing how technical problems are fixed right away. When a bus or train breaks down, a breakdown service comes right away so the passengers won’t have the inconvenience of waiting.

Since I just came back from Manila, my housemates requested for some local goods that we could not get here in Singapore. In my baggage were green mangoes for Mauie, peanut crackers for Che, peanut butter for Eidz, and chocolates for Esmie and Tin. As for the guys, I bought 2 packs of cigarettes because it’s cheaper in the Philippines. I wanted to get Ivan and Les an e cig each so they could stop injecting nicotine into their bodies, haha. As for myself, I bought A LOT of food including my favorite tocino and garlic longganisa! Good luck to my diet plans!

So, I just came from a 5-day vacation in Manila and it felt like a gained 10 pounds. It took all my strength to take the SG-bound aircraft again because I really miss being with my family and friends. If only I were rich, I’ll just buy gold coins and real estate properties so I’ll get even richer without having to work at all. Lol. But I had to face reality now and do my best here so I could fulfill all my dreams. Wish me luck! :)
I heard there’s an ongoing theatrical show featuring dinosaurs over at Adelaide, Australia. Dubbed “Walking with Dinosaurs”, the $20million production showcases 20 life-sized dinosaurs. Each large dinosaur weighs 1.6 tonnes and contains metres of hydraulic hose, fabric and foam, 200 litres of paint, seven kilowatts of power, a kilometre of cabling and six hydraulic motors. They run on rollerblade wheels with a driver and two puppeteers operating the head, tail, mouth and eyes.
I think this is a must-see entertainment venue for families!

I’m neither skinny nor tall but I still find it amusing to watch Tyra Bank’s America’s Next Top Model. The first few seasons were quite “meh” because it lacked the sophistication and prestige that the show have now.
My favorite season to date would be the 15th season where the winner would be featured in Vogue Italia, woot! A girl named Anne emerged as the Top Model with her height (maybe she took HGH supplements as kid? hehehe) and her amazingly photogenic face. I’m yet to watch season 16 and I hope it would be as good as its predecessor.
I want to share this hamburger patty recipe that I learned from the Food Channel. My friends and family love this so much because it’s home-made and really really delicious. Haha!
Hamburger Recipe (makes 4 patties)
1/2 kg Ground Beef
1 Tbsp A1 Steak Sauce
1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 cup Bread Crumbs
1 Egg
Salt and Pepper to taste
Butter
Combine all ingredients, except for the butter, in a bowl and mix well. Make 4 equal partitions to create the patties. Take a hamburger portion and put a cube-sized slab of butter in the center of the portion before you work the meat into a tight bowl. Cup the meat between your hands to form it into a patty. Repeat the procedure with the remaining portions. You may opt to cook the burgers right away or store it in the freezer. I usually use electric grills for my burger as I’m not really a pro with charcoal-based grills. Either way, I’m sure this burger will be delicious!

Group-buying sites are so in right now that you could get services practically for free! I am such a groupon addict that my inbox is filled with updates every morning…and I make it a point to read each post because I don’t want to miss a good deal! In the past few days, I noticed that most deals are related to Mother’s Day celebration next week–discounted chocolates, enjoy a soothing spa, and send flowers for less are the common come-ons for every deal. really I hope I could find a good one for my mother even if I’m miles away from her!
PERSONAL:
I’m not really a fan of comics but I do enjoy watching the on-screen adaptations. A favorite would be Iron Man because the actors are great in portraying their roles. Just this weekend, I was able to catch the Hollywood adapation of Thor. I don’t know who he is but my boyfriend, who just celebrated his birthday, gave me *some* explanations during the movie. I didn’t have much expectations about the movie. I found it nice though, especially those scenes at Asgard with lots of metal buildings and gold. The funny scenes were a plus too! :)
